Dear Parents/ Carers,

On Friday 23rd October, we are planning to host a themed maths day to enrich our curriculum and promote number facts and times tables with our children.

We hope the children will find this day enjoyable and engaging as an opportunity to explore some fun elements of this vital aspect of our maths teaching in school.

The day will be planned slightly differently for different ages of children:

In EYFS and Y1, the children will be taking part in a 'number day' and should come to school dressed as a number of their choice. They may want to use the popular CBeebies Numberblocks as an inspiration for their outfit. EYFS and Y1 will talk part in fun number activities in their classroom and outdoor environments.

In Y2 and KS2, the day will be planned around the theme of 'Times Tables Rock Stars' to promote the use of the website with these classes. Therefore, we are asking children in these years to come to school dressed as a 'rock star' for the day. We encourage cool outfits and rock star hair styling to be authentic- air guitars are optional!

We are asking for your support in enabling your child to come to school dressed as either a number in EYFS/ Y1 or a rock star in Years 2-6. There are many photos on the internet from other schools who have hosted similar number and times tables days previously, if you are looking for some inspiration for an outfit choice.

Thank you for your support in preparing the children with an outfit for this day, which we hope will be enriching and exciting for all our children.
