Welcome to Nursery
Ms Van Cook is the class teacher and Miss Crabtree, Mrs Felton and Mrs Khan are the Teaching Assistants in Nursery.
This half term, our 'Big Question' is 'How will we get there?' We will be investigating transport. We will be investigating this topic using science, art, music, geography and maths. We will also be making a boat/ raft in DT using a saw, a vice, a drill and a simple ruler.
In mathematics, we will be be looking at measurement and also revisiting shape and pattern. I will be assessing your child's understanding if positional language, such as in front of, above, next to etc.
Of course, we will continue to consolidate cardinality, number order, counting backwards from 5, forwards to 20, subitising and matching the correct numerals with amounts. We are also practising numeral formation.
Please ensure you read to your child for 5 or 10 minutes EVERY DAY, as this underpins their learning in ALL areas of the curriculum.
Your child will be given a short and simple homework task every Friday. This will need to be completed in order for your child to make optimum progress in their learning.
Your child has P.E on Thursdays, Geography on Fridays and Music on Tuesdays. Art will be taught once a week and History will be taught in conjunction with other subjects. R.E/ PSHE is also taught once a week. Maths and English are taught every day.
Please use the star buttons below to find out what your child has been doing AND what you can do to support your child at home. These will be updated WEEKLY.
Please ensure your child has a water bottle, a book bag, a change of clothes, a coat and wellies in school.
