Assembly Programme
Well Green enriches our curriculum provision with a comprehensive and inspirational assembly programme to support our students’ personal development and raise their awareness and appreciation of key issues, faiths, events and practices. Assemblies occur every day, offering appropriate guidance and content. Assemblies can be extended to create time to allow guest speakers and deliver external programmes for example Road Safety, E-safety etc. Assemblies focus habits of success, skills and qualities that support independent learning. Our assembly programme is an important part of our curriculum provision promoting the culture and ethos of our school supporting our children and fostering fundamental British Values, raise social, moral, spiritual and cultural awareness; promote personal, social, health, relationship and sex education. It is also a time to celebrate individual successes and proud moments when children share recent achievements. Awards are given each Friday for the Citizen of the Week and Pupil of the Week from each class. These children are chosen by the child’s class teacher. Assembly takes place as a mass gathering in the hall or in classrooms when it includes just one or two classes. During assembly time the children also listen to a music, covering a wide range of genres from different periods of time. Year 6 prefects maintain the file and records of the assemblies. Assemblies are taken by Mrs Markham, Miss Shaw and other staff on a rota.
