11th-15th May

8th- 15th May

Hello again Year 5,

I hope, as I do every week, that you and your families are all staying safe and well.

I am writing this on the 75th anniversary of VE Day which of course is the day that the Allies were victorious in Europe in 1945 and Nazi Germany was finally defeated.  As you'll remember from our WW2 topic in January, Hitler was an evil dictator responsible for the deaths of millions of people. We are lucky that as a result of the Allied victory, our country is democratic. We can only imagine what it would be like now if Hitler had won. Please can you remind your parents to look at the email sent from school with some suggested activities for you to do as a project related to VE Day. Mrs Markham wants everyone to complete something for the display in the hall when school reopens.

Please can you all make sure that you have contributed to the website. It lets me know that you are still connected to school and doing the work that has been set. You can send me a message via my email address: earmstrong@wellgreenprimary.co.uk and tell me how you are getting on with your work. This will avoid me having to phone you up to check that you have accessed the online work!!

Remember also to think of the work you have done at school about staying safe online. Never give out your personal details such as an address or photograph and make sure your parents are supervising you when you go on the internet.

Keep using TT Rockstars and go through the French sent by Miss Morice at least once a week so you don't forget your vocabulary.

There is also the brilliant https://whiterosemaths.com/homelearning/   website: this has been supplying great activities since the lock-down for you do if you need extra Maths. Click on Year 5 Week Four and watch the cooking video connected with the Friday challenge activity; it looks great fun.

Take care everyone and get in touch via my email!! (I'm waiting to hear from you.smiley)

Best wishes

Mrs Armstrong
