Welcome to Reception
Summer 2, 2019
Our teacher is Mrs. White and our teaching assistant is Mrs. Felton.
This half term our learning challenge is
‘Are All Mini-Beasts The Same?’
We will be finding out about different types of mini-beasts, their habitats, similarities and differences and life-cycles.
In mathematics we are continuing to develop our number skills, together with shape, space and measure work.
In literacy we are sharing two lovely story books: 'Ella' and 'The Very Hungry Caterpillar'. We are continuing to focus on recognising new Phase 3 sounds. We are blending to read words with our new sounds in, and segmenting to spell words with our new sounds in. We are practising reading sentences and captions. The new sounds and tricky words we are learning I will share on the homework cover letter.
This half term we will take the children into the hall or outside to do our PE sessions on a Wednesday or Friday afternoon. The children will wear their PE top and shorts, and need pumps for outside. We are throwing and catching a range of equipment, and playing games throwing equipment at a target.
Everyday your child can access a piece of fruit from school. However they can bring in their own healthy snack from home.
Your child can bring water into school, and place their bottle in a box in the cloakroom. As we are a healthy school we encourage all the children to drink water.
