WELCOME
to Reception Class
to Reception Class
A warm welcome to all our Reception children from Miss Hodkinson. If you have any questions or information you would like to know please do not hesitate to come and ask me. As we are very busy when the children come into school if you have anything you would like to ask me, please chat to me before or after school.
This half term our topic is Buildings in the Local Area. The children will be learning about what different buildings there are near to school and what they are used for. We will be looking at different materials and why they are used for different purposes. We will be finding out buildings in the local area by watching video clips, reading information books and going on a walk. They will be learning all their new skills in the areas of learning in the classrooms and through focused activities.
During this half term we willl be doing gymnastics in the hall on a Monday morning. Please can you make sure your child has their PE kit available on this day and all their kit is named. We are practicing doing the buttons on their school uniform and I would be grateful if you can encourage your child to practice doing their own buttons at home.
The children can bring in a healthy snack for the morning or afternoon snack time and water in a named water bottle. We are encouraging the children to make healthy choices in relation to their food and appreciate your support with this.
