To Year 4 children,
I hope you have all been able to have a break over the weekend and recharge your batteries. I hope also that you managed to get outside and get some fresh air and exercise. Did you get a play in the snow on Saturday before it all melted?
You all had a brilliant week last week, and you did me proud again, with your excellent attitude towards lessons. You made lots of progress with fractions and your setting description ideas were so creative and imaginative!
This week, we will be continuing with fractions, focusing on adding and subtracting fractions. We will also be starting the book 'Treasure Island', which will be exciting. Your writing task this week will be to write a character description of Long John Silver! In Science, we will be learning about the water cycle and in Geography we are turning our attention to earthquakes. Lots to look forward to!
Keep sending me your pictures by email. It is lovely to see what you have been up to, whether that is a piece of work that you are proud of, or something that you have been doing at home. Our gallery is filling up nicely!
Keep smiling!
Mrs. Simon
This week's homework:
I have set a task on mymaths to continue your fractions work. I have also uploaded some Treasure Island spellings, which will help you with your writing over the coming weeks. I won't be testing you on these, but you will gain some new vocabulary to use!
