Week commencing 5th October

Hello Year 5,

So, here we are into the second week of our time at home. I hope that you have all managed to stay on top of the work set last week. Do your best, I know that it is sometimes difficult to work from home, but I have been impressed with how everyone has stayed positive. I've enjoyed seeing you all on zoom and look forward to seeing everyone again on Monday morning.

I have looked at the work completed on Purple Mash and left comments (to 20 children). Keep trying to improve your games, don't give up. I did notice that some children hadn't started their work. Please try either to complete something on 2Code or the Dancer and Footballer games. I have also been leaving comments on Mymaths to children who have already completed the negative number work. Remember to try more than once if you don't achieve 100% the first time.

This week's Maths is focused on multiples and factors and our English is all to do with describing the North Sea. The English work will culminate in an extended piece of writing about the journey, made by the Anglo Saxons, across the North Sea to Britain. Our History looks at Anglo Saxon story telling, in particular the story of Beowulf, and what it tells us about their real lives. If you would like to learn more about Anglo Saxon life, then why don't you watch the videos available on Espresso:
