Wednesday

I look forward to seeing you during the Zoom sessions. Please spend a few moments re-reading the Zoom etiquette. This can be found on the school website's remote learning page, thank you.

Phonics: During our Zoom lesson we will focus on everyday sounds. Please encourage your child to do 'good listening', that is eyes ready, lips closed and brains switched on! We will be listening to an excellent story book linked to sounds.

Follow up work, inside and outside: During the day, support your child to notice sounds and to talk about them. Examples may include: a tap running with water, a 'pinging' microwave or a motorbike / car's engine.

Maths: The children will be learning a rhyme to support understanding of number. We will be using our fingers during counting.  Please learn the following rhyme with your child and add the actions from Zoom:

One, one a big sticky bun

Two, two, look at my shoe

Three, three, clever old me

Four, four, knock on the floor

Five, five, bees in a hive

During your outdoor exercise, look for house numbers on front doors.

Other Learning: We will sharing a traditional story book, and thinking about 'book language'. We will be joining in with a repeated phrase. Perhaps you can repeat this phrase during baking or when using play dough. We will be also be thinking about shapes (2D) and it would be great to go on a shape hunt inside and/ or outside.

PLEASE CONTACT ME VIA EMAIL IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS AND/ OR WISH TO SHARE YOUR CHILD'S WORK, EG PHOTOGRAPHS.

IT WOULD BE GREAT IF YOUR CHILD WOULD ALSO SHARE WORK AND IDEAS DURING ZOOM, FOR EXAMPLE DURING OUR 'RE-CAP' SESSION AT THE START OF A ZOOM LESSON. I'M SURE THEIR CONFIDENCE WILL GROW WITH EVERY SESSION. WE HAVE ALSO BEEN USING 'THUMBS UP, DOWN OR HORIZONTAL' TO EXPRESS OUR OPINIONS.

TAKE CARE AND A HUGE THANK YOU FOR YOUR MUCH APPRECIATED SUPPORT
