Nursery

Welcome to nursery

You will see Mrs. Parsons (class teacher) and Miss. Crabtree (teaching assistant) everyday. The children are settling in really well this term, thank you for your support.

The nursery lovelies

Summer 2

If we are lucky enough to experience warmer weather, please send your child into school with a sun hat and applied sun cream. Better weather means plenty of time to spend outdoors, so please ensure spare clothes (see below) and named pair of wellington boots are permanently in school, thank you.

  • Drawstring bag containing: two sets of underwear, jogging bottoms, long sleeved tops and pairs of socks. Please place each separate set in a nappy bag to support your child's independence and to ensure maximum learning time for all members of the class, thank you
  • Named pair of wellington boots. Please exchange for a new larger pair when your child's feet have grown
  • Named book bag

The children are choosing a Free reader every Tuesday and a Guided Reader with accompanying question card on their designated day. Everyone also has a reading record book. When your child is a VIP (focus child), a reading scheme book will also be sent home.

Every half term you will receive a half term overview sheet, together with a vocabulary mat relating to the current Learning Challenge. During Summer Two, the children take part in a Learning Challenge called, 'How do I get there?' The vocabulary mat has key words which the children need to learn. This will be sent home together with the overview letter. The Learning Challenge work is recorded in a large floor book which the children can access during the day. It is a lovely record of their learning experiences.
