Arts' Week 2020

We celebrated art and music together during Arts week. Joanne Risley, a local artist, came to school and worked with some of the classes to create dragon flies and flowers out of copper, beads and wire. They were assembled to create a wonderful display down the Key Stage 2 corridor.

Year 1 made their own bees using 'Model Magic' and created their own hives with hexagonal shapes.
Another local artist, Lara came to school to create mosaic tiles with the children. The theme was the Manchester Worker Bee. The bee denotes Mancunian's hard work ethic and the city being a hive of activity. It has also come to represent the sense of unity in the great city.
Mrs Markham worked with the children to create more 'bee' artwork using a screen printing technique.  Some of the bees were created using water colours.
